About Denisse

Denisse Barragan is a dedicated community leader with deep roots in Vista. In 2007 she co-founded an automotive collision business with her father, which has grown into one of Vista’s leading repair centers. As the owner of a thriving business, she has gained invaluable insights into the local economy and the intricate dynamics of running a successful venture. This journey in business has not only provided for her family but also ignited a passion for giving back to the community that has given her so much.

In recognition of her dedication, Denisse was honored with the 2023 Businessperson of the Year award by the Vista Chamber of Commerce, as well as a Community Involvement award from the 1Collision Network for her service to the community. Denisse’s commitment to her community goes beyond recognition; she currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Vista Chamber of Commerce, the Vista Education Foundation, and previously sat on the board for the California Auto Body Association of San Diego.

Besides her leadership roles, she is an active volunteer with various local organizations, including the Vista Optimist Club, Vista Elks Lodge, Operation Hope, Vista Historical Society, and the Miss Vista and Teen Vista Scholarship Pageants. Notably, Denisse was named the Strawberry Festival Queen when the festival was initiated in 2010.

Denisse’s personal journey is a story of resilience and success. Having once been an English as a Second Language (ESL) student and overcoming language barriers as a child, she serves as an inspiration to all. With a strong connection to the community and an unwavering passion for making Vista a better place, Denisse Barragan is the dedicated candidate poised to bring about positive change to the City Council. She is committed to building a brighter future for Vista—one where hard work, opportunity, and the American dream are accessible to all.

As a resident and homeowner in the district where she grew up, Denisse fully understands the profound impact that local government decisions have on the lives of residents and the future of the city. With her understanding of the diverse needs of the community, a solid foundation in business, fluency in Spanish, and a deep-rooted connection to the city, Denisse is uniquely positioned to advocate for the interests of the district and the city as a whole. Her primary goals are to enhance public safety, foster economic growth, improve Vista’s infrastructure and address the homeless crisis, all while prioritizing the overall well-being of the community.
